Colosseum Shooter Devlog #2
Hey everyone, I am here to keep you up to date with upcoming changes and features coming to the game in the future.
Right now I have been fleshing out the new level, Snow chasm. In the current version of the level, it starts off very open, in the new version the level will open up after a set amount of time. In terms of map size it's about twice the size of the colosseum.
So the theme of this level is some sort of military storage base that is built into ice walls. In contrast to the colosseum I wanted it to be more open in its environment, hence the large river on the left side of the level.
There is also a walkway that heads down to the main playfield. So if you see any enemies come down it, you should be able to take them out before they jump down to the level.
Unfortunately by the time the next update rolls around the stage there won't be a boss in the level. Though it is one main focus point of the game, I still need to make a design for it, though I do have some ideas in mind.

It's been about a year since I started this project. Originally it was intended to be worked on this project for only a couple of months just to test out AI for another project. But at this point in time I have added every sort of mechanic to the game that i want at this time, it mostly just flashing it out.
As for the art style of the game I'm going for a cell shaded look, similar to games like Hi-Fi Rush and Bomb Rush Cyberfunk.
I hope by the end of the year I can at least get about 3 levels into the game, even if they are unfinished. But since there are already 2 in the game now, getting a third on should not be all that hard.
So a quick summary of everything in this Devlog. Updated map for Snow Chasm, the eventual art style of the game and another level by the then end of the year.
Any other change will be added to the patch notes when the next update is released.
