Colosseum Shooter Devlog #1
Hey everyone, I am here to keep you up to date with upcoming changes and features coming to the game in the future.
At the moment there has been a large focus on texturing and remodeling for visual improvement of the game. So for the next update there will be some minor gameplay tweaks.
There's been some slight alterations made to the arena model, here: the before,on the left, and after, on the right.
The tunnels that were on the back wall have been removed, there is a place to replace them with some closed doors.The screen size has been sized up and brought forward.
The parts that are on each of the corners have been removed from all sides except the front of the arena. The ones that were already done were modeled strangely. So it was hard to edit it, so it was better to remake it than to change the one already made. I think it looks a lot cleaner than before anyway.
Though you never meant to see inside the enemy spawn area all that much. The inside has been textured so there is no more gray boxing for this area.
I'm still in the middle of texturing the arena, so hopefully I can get it done by the next update. If there is time I should be able to start on the Sawblade enemies as well.
I am working on getting a new model done for Soroboruo, I have no idea when it will be finished. I still have to add the legs to it and change the head. Hopefully it will look like a mechanical centipede/beetle when it's finished.
There won't be much in terms of gameplay changes for the next update, so it should play the same as the prior update, now with a splash of new paint on top. But here are some of the gameplay changes that will be added in the next update.
There will now be a buzz that goes off everytime a new gate or gates opens. So that should help anyone know that the enemies are coming from different directions, instead of having to guess when it opened.
The boss will now spawn in sooner than five minutes. I don't think anyone has survived long enough to see it. I don't think I have ever seen it spawn in by playing it normally. So now you should be able to fight it and not look at the image in the enemy menu.
So a quick summary of everything in this Devlog. New textures and mesh for the arena. New sound for when a gate opens. The boss will now spawn in soon than before. Any other change will be added to the patch notes when the next update is released.
